Book Review

I recently shifted my residence. While packing, I came across this cute little book (yes, this book is just the size of your palm) named " Life's Little Instruction Book" - vol 3, by H.Jackson Brown Jr. It is quite a read and very interesting. The Author offers quite a lot of advice to his son who asked for more of it though he has graduated from college and is living separately.

The advice or little instructions as Mr.Brown Jr prefers to call them useful in every day life. Some of the instructions from the book are :

.Regardless of the situation, remember that nothing is lost by courtesy.
.Enjoy the satisfaction that comes from doing little things well.
.Remember that it's better to be cheated in price than in quality.
.Work for a company where the expectation of you are high.
.Earn your success based on service to others, not at the expense of others.

Not all the instructions are so serious. Some of them are quite banal but genuine if you think over it. Here's a few of them :

.Never go near a kid who's holding a water hose unless you want to get wet.
.Kiss slowly.
.Shoot a few hoops.
.Cut your toenails in private.
.When in doubt, smile.

This book is not only entertaining but thought provoking also. I wish I could get the first two volumes too. (The quotation below my blog title is from this book).

The Troubles of posting links on the blog

I have been trying to get some add-ons to this blog - so far I have been extremely unsuccessful. I am not an expert with computers, just a lay man with a computer who knows typing. Getting the links like Clock, Banner, language fonts etc has so far eluded me. I don't how the other guys are doing it. May be they are computer whizkids. Must be. God please help me!!!!!.
